ABOUT THE AWARDS
Managed by the Property Council of Australia, the Innovation & Excellence Awards is one of the most prestigious property awards programs in Australia, promoting excellence in design and innovation in the built environment since 1982.
The Property Council of Australia aims to showcase superior examples of iconic projects in property development and investment across a broad range of sectors and design disciplines.
The Property Council of Australia/Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation & Excellence Awards event is a celebration of finalists crowning the industry’s best projects, people and companies. Finalists in the awards are recipients of one of the 19 prestigious Award Categories with the overall pinnacle ‘Rider Levett Bucknall Australian Development of the Year’ award also being announced.

Landcom Award for best affordable housing development
This award category seeks to award organisations that are committed to meeting an ever-increasing market demand for affordable housing.
Property Council Academy Award for Best Business or Industrial Park
This award recognises and publicly rewards the efficient use of capital in a new or refurbished Business or Industrial Park development.
procore Award for Development Innovation
This award recognises innovation that creates significant advancement and improvement within a development.
Grosvenor Place Award for Diversity, equity & inclusion
This award recognises and promotes the positive contribution made by organisations that demonstrate a holistic and long-term commitment to diversity within the property industry in the past 12 months as at 31 December 2022.
bridge42 Award for Future Leader of the Year
The purpose of this award is to acknowledge, encourage and, most importantly, promote the positive contribution made to the industry by young property professionals.
Property Council of Australia Award for Government Leadership
This award recognises significant innovation and excellence of a local, state or federal government department or authority in its dealings with the property investment and development industries.
s4b Award for Best Heritage Development
This award recognises innovation excellence in heritage related development or adaptive reuse projects. The award recognises outstanding conservation projects, adaptive reuse of existing buildings/sites or high-quality infill development within a historic context.
jinding Award for Best Master Planned Community
This award is for a master planned community.
Hames Sharley Award for Best Mixed Use Development
This award recognises and rewards innovation in a mixed use development.
For the purpose of the award, a mixed use development is a development that comprise at least two substantive uses of the following; office, retail, residential, tourism and leisure, community facilities, logistics/warehouse, distribution or high technology.
Herron Todd White Award for Best Office Development
This award recognises and publicly rewards the efficient use of capital in a new or refurbished office development.
nbn Award for Project Innovation
This award recognises innovation that creates significant advancement and improvement within the property industry.
rider levett bucknall Award for Best Public Art Project
This award recognises the use of Public Art within projects/developments to create brilliant spaces and in turn enriching and enlivening our cities and suburbs.
woods bagot Award for Best Public Building
This award recognises excellence in a new or refurbished public building.
A public building is a building used for public visitation or occupied for the delivery of services to the community (whether or not it is owned by government) such as (but not limited to) healthcare, education, community facilities, sporting facilities, public infrastructure, art gallery or museum.
aqualand Award for Best Residential Development
This award aims to recognise and publicly reward the efficient use of capital in a new or refurbished residential development.
mk Illumination Award for Best Shopping Centre Development
This award recognises and publicly rewards the efficient use of capital in a new or refurbished shopping centre development.
ghd Design Award for Best Sustainable Development
This award recognises and rewards innovation and encourages the demonstrated application of sustainability practices that reduce a project or existing building’s eco footprint.
landream AWARD FOR BEST tourism & leisure development
This award recognises and publicly rewards the efficient use of capital in a new or refurbished tourism and/or leisure development.
wilson parking AWARD FOR BEST WORKPLACE PROJECT
This award is for a new or refreshed workplace project with a minimum net lettable area of 2,000 square metres.
